  • Accountant, Revenue and Billing


    Position: Permanent
    Position Type: Full time non-unionized position
    Hours of work: 9 am to 5 pm (with one-hour unpaid lunch), Monday to Friday

    About the position

    The Accountant, Revenue and Billing reports to the Manger, Business Office and is a full-time role in the Business Office.  This role is parent and community facing and involves making collection calls, processing billing, and a number of accounting related functions such as reconciliations and closing key processes for month end.  This role also is involved in banking activities.

    Key Responsibilities

    1.         Collections – 15%
    2.         Student Billing – 40%
    3.         Accounting and Month End – 45%
     
    Outline of duties and responsibilities 

    Accounts Receivables
    1. Schedule the VC Pay batches, prepare and reconcile the deposits for VC Pay and all payments received in the bank from all sources:  wires, bill payments & other direct payments.
    2. Billing students for extracurricular activities & preparing project reports.
    3. Full cycle accounting for the Parent’s Association revenue and expenses including all reconciliations
    4. Billing students for other charges such as Cafeteria and TFS Shop purchases, adhoc Childcare billing, security card billing, PA billing, any other billings relating to students and staff.
    5. Sending invoices as required for revenue collection to business partners and vendors.
    6. Entering returned payments, payroll deductions for tuition & cafeteria charges monthly basis.
    7. Calling the community to collect outstanding payments and answering questions.
    8. Month end duties such as reconciliations and closing processes.  This includes all student activities including clubs, student initiatives and trips.
    9. Assist in system procedures including documentation and creation of manuals and guides.
    10. Working closely with the Business Office Team and assisting in other areas as needed.
    11. Community Care Support Services: submitting and reconciling invoices and payments related to support workers and speech therapists
    12. Yearly competitive analysis of schools in the sector – Toronto and West Campus
    13. Back up to Accounts Payable in high demand times.
    Student Registration  
    1. Coordinating registration material and communication with the Manager to ensure material reflects the right dates and amounts.
    2. Ensuring all the bill codes in the system are reflective of tuition amounts.
    3. Processing, coding & entering bill codes in the system.
    4. Answering queries from parents / staff registration forms and materials.

  • Facilities Manager (CBRE)

    About the Role:
     
    As a CBRE Facilities Manager, you will manage a team responsible for overseeing building operations and maintenance for a facility, campus, or portfolio of small to medium sized buildings.
     
    This job is a part of the Facilities Management functional area which focuses on all aspects of the operations of a set of assets, providing support to the Clients, Tenants, and Property Managers regarding all repairs and investment plans.
     
    What You’ll Do:

    • Oversees day-to-day FM Services, including facility operations and maintenance
    • Meets with client to discuss facility enhancements, capital expenditures, asset plans, etc.
    • Anticipates short and long-term client needs and develops options for consideration.
    • Applies processes, procedures and protocols to diverse client situations.
    • Develops monthly reports and comprehensive business plans for facility considering performance objectives to meet requirements.
    • Monitors/analyzes and reports on facility results relative to deliverables.
    • Develops/implements maintenance and operations goals/objectives consistent with Project Agreement requirements, good industry practices and applicable municipal, provincial and federal legislative requirements.
    • Develops appropriate systems/processes to ensure effective/efficient facility operations.
    • Participates in developing/implementing minor works and capital budgets; monitors expenditures, variance analysis and reporting; takes corrective action as required.
    • Manages recruitment, mentoring, coaching and professional development of staff; supervises staff; provides work direction/assignment of duties to meet operational requirements; establishes performance plan/individual goals with staff and reviews performance; identifies training/educational requirements as needed.
    • Investigates work issues and/or staff performance issues and initiates appropriate disciplinary action.
    • Oversees development/continuous improvement of maintenance programs; applies planning/scheduling techniques and risk-mitigation strategies to ensure effective delivery of preventive, predictive and responsive maintenance; ensures appropriate use of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
    • Procures/manages work of external service providers directly or through subordinate supervisor; negotiates/monitors contractual agreements for specialized maintenance, purchased services, and renovation work as required.
    • Liaises with stakeholders for renovation and/or maintenance projects, and coordinates activities of staff, consultants, and contractors to ensure requirements are met and facility impacts are minimized.
    • Oversees development/improvement of policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with applicable codes, regulations and standards; ensures compliance by employees and external service providers; collaborates with and provides technical and logistical support to client. 

    What You’ll Need: 

    • 7-10 years progressive facilities maintenance and operations management experience in complex, mission-critical environment; LEED certification an asset.
    • Additional qualifications such as a Skilled Trade ticket are an asset.
    • Knowledge of facility operations/maintenance an asset; knowledge/understanding of Occupational Health & Safety Act, building codes/standards/regulations, and building systems an asset.
    • Advanced level computer skills (such as Microsoft Office suite, ERP systems, etc.).

  • Learning Forum - Social Worker [LTO]


    Position: Long Term Occasional replacement

    About the position

    As a dedicated member of the Health & Wellness Team  and part of the Learning Forum support services team, the social worker will provide consultative expertise and brief therapeutic support to students and their families to develop positive social-emotional skills and overall well-being. The social worker will report to the Executive Director of the Learning Forum and be in clinical collaboration with the school’s other part-time School Social Worker. With a thorough knowledge of the psycho-social needs of young adolescents and connected to external resources and services within the community, the social worker will promote an inclusive, pro-active and integrated approach to support for students and families.  

    Role & Responsibilities:
    • Conduct case reviews with school counselors to assess student and family needs
    • Consult with students, parents and faculty
    • Provide direction and assistance in support of psychosocial health and programming for the well-being of all students and those with specific needs
    • Create partnerships with community agencies and outside professionals to ensure timely and targeted support for students and the TFS school community
    • Connect and liaise with community agencies as required, providing insights from research and effective practices

    • Provide expertise for parent programs and education

    • Excellent French and English skills (oral and written)
    • Certified teacher (OCT or equivalent) with a degree in education (B.Ed. or M.Ed.) 
    • Ability to teach in French (native language), English conversation language (Level B2) is also needed
    • Good knowledge of the French curriculum 
    • Experience a Maths teacher 
    • Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Ontarian programs would be an asset
    • Teacher certification by the French Ministry of Education would also be an asset
