Volunteering
Many TFS alumni stay connected with the School. They volunteer in a number of different ways:
- Serving on the TFS Alumni Association Executive;
- Connecting with former classmates as a class representative;
- Helping to plan alumni events, including the Annual Reunion Weekend;
- Acting as judges in debating tournaments or science fairs;
- Acting as a mentor or advisor in the Career Counselling program for senior students;
- Serving on the TFS Board of Directors; and
- Participating in strategic planning or other initiatives.
Philanthropy
Every year, members of the Toronto French School community demonstrate their support for the School through donations. This voluntary support is critical to the School because tuition fees alone do not cover the full operating and capital costs of a TFS education.
Currently, alumni may choose to direct their Annual Fund contribution to one of two priority areas:
The Endowment Fund
Each year parents in our community faced with unexpected financial constraints turn to TFS for assistance with tuition and other school fees. The ability to provide student financial assistance in the form of bursary support is a priority for the School.
Alumni are encouraged to support the Endowment and bursary program by directing their annual TFS donation to the class fund that has been established in honour of their graduating class. Your gift will help ensure that deserving students are able to remain at the School and complete their TFS education.
Head's Discretionary Fund
Donations to the Head's Discretionary Fund help ensure that TFS can finance new initiatives and areas of greatest need.
