A Fun Run for a Great Cause on Saturday, May 9th Parents, students and staff are all invited to take part in an important cause: Seja’s Run – For a Breath of Fresh Air. Join TFS alumni as they honour the memory of their classmate Seja Von Wersebe, who passed away at the age of 16 in 1989, due in part to her lifelong struggle with asthma.

This 14th annual run is a key event during the Alumni Reunion Weekend, bringing alumni together with current families and staff to walk, run, or stroll 2.5 km or 5 km through our beautiful neighbourhood.  Proceeds go to the Asthma Society of Canada. Over the years, Seja’s Run has raised over $60,000 to help find and support solutions to asthma in Canada. After the event, relax with fellow participants at a gourmet BBQ lunch, knowing that a good deed was well done!

Meanwhile at the Junior School, the Grades 4 & 5 students got a head start on their participation by taking part in a poster design contest for the run. Over 50 entries were received, making the decision by the judges – comprised of teachers, a member of Seja’s Run Planning Committee, and the Alumni Relations Coordinator – very difficult. After much deliberation, a poster designed by Amanda L-V, Grade 4, was chosen as the winning entry. Her design will be printed and posted around the school, and will also be placed on the Seja’s Run website (http://www.sejasrun.com/).
