A New Play Structure has landed at the Junior School
It’s about 12 feet high, with gleaming silver tubes forming the shape of a globe, joined together by bright red balls. Inside is a blue web worthy of Spiderman himself. What is it? It’s Cosmos, of course!
On Monday, June 15th, Cosmos, the new play structure so named by its manufacturer, was officially opened for play for the students at the Junior School. Replacing the old play structure between 296 and 306 Lawrence Avenue East, which had to be demolished to make way for our new Play & Sports Field, Cosmos is designed for use by children from ages five to 12.
And Cosmos is one of the first of its kind of play structure in the Toronto area. Made in Germany, Cosmos’ amazing web was first pieced together in a playground equipment factory before being boxed for shipment to TFS’ Toronto campus. Once here, it was painstakingly installed in time for the students to enjoy it just before the end of the school year. Though they have only one week to use it, the students are taking every opportunity to enjoy the exciting new play structure that has appeared in their midst.
