Award-winning Spanish Film to Screen at TFS on November 23rd

All members of the TFS community are invited, on Monday, November 23rd, to a free screening of Bajos Las Estrellas – Under the Stars – an award-winning Spanish film included in this year’s European Film Festival.

Based on a novel by Spanish writer Fernando Aramburu, the film follows waiter and aspiring jazz musician Benito back to his hometown of Estella, in the Navarre region of Spain. There, Benito finds his father deathly ill and his sculptor brother, Lalo, about to enter into an ill-advised marriage with down-on-her-luck Nines, the mother of a highly precocious daughter named Aninara.

Benito immediately sets to stop the upcoming nuptials; however, he never expects his most formidable opposition would come from Aninara herself.

The screening will begin at 7:00 pm in the MPR at the Senior School, at 318 Lawrence Avenue East; RSVPs are not required. The film will be screened in Spanish with English subtitles. Note that the film is suitable for those over the age of 15.
