Magnificently MAD at the Senior School
On the evening of May 13th, the Senior School was taken over by MAD – Music, Art and Drama – a celebration of the arts at TFS.
Music filled the air. The Level III Jazz and Friends ensemble performed. La Terrasse became a music hall for the night, with the Band, Wind, String and Jazz Ensembles all playing. The grand finale showcased the Grade 6 and 7 Choir, the Percussion Ensemble and the Guitar Club.
Art was on display in the entrance and the Foyer des élèves James Doak. Line drawings, paintings, sculpture and mixed media vividly demonstrated the talent of our resident artists.
Drama took centre stage in the MPR and front foyer, with performances of three plays written, directed by, and starring students from Level I to IV. In the Dance Studio, Grade 6 students performed Molière, and Grade 7’s, a contemporary English-language play.
There was also a dizzying array of Haitian art by Grade 6 students, each small, symbolic patch covered with hundreds of hand-glued beads. And like these small squares of art, the evening was a vibrant, joyous success.
