TFS Joins Canadian Independent Schools’ Super-Ensembles for Music Festival
On the weekend of April 3-5, students from TFS' Toronto and Mississauga campuses took part in the Conference of Independent Schools Music Festival. Students in our Junior and Senior Choirs and our String and Wind Ensembles became members of the large CISMF music groups in the two and a half hour performance. Music selections included classical works, jazz selections, and folk songs from around the world. And in front of a packed house at Roy Thompson Hall (tickets sold out in five hours!), the grand finale involved over a thousand students in a powerful performance of the appropriately-titled song," Lift Every Voice And Sing." TFS students enjoyed the experience immensely, particularly the opportunity to perform with students from other independent schools. Toronto French School has taken part in CISMF for many years, and continues to be a part of this challenging musical event each spring.
