TFS Welcomes New Teachers
It’s that time of year again when TFS is delighted to announce the accomplished new teachers who will be inspiring students across all branches this fall.
In Mississauga, say bienvenue to the following teachers:
Vivian Correa (Grade 1): Mme. Correa has her Bachelor’s of Education from L’Université du Québec à Montréal. She comes to us from Montreal where she taught for many years.
Jonel Destré (Physical Education): M. Destré received his Bachelor of Education degree from Laurentian University. He has taught Physical Education and other subjects in Burlington and Sudbury.
Kristina Farentino (IT integration): Ms. Farentino completed her Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Toronto and is currently pursuing her Master’s. She was employed by Appleby College for 13 years, holding many positions, most recently Director of Online Learning.
Annie Mérillon (Grade 1): Mme. Mérillon has her Bachelor’s of Education from L’Université de Montréal, where she also worked for many years as a teacher from the elementary to the secondary school levels.
Alicia Vega (Spanish): Ms. Vega obtained her Master of Science degree from L’Université de Montréal. She has been working as a Spanish teacher for over 10 years.
At the Toronto campus, the Junior School is welcoming:
Shuli Farr (Intro JK): Ms. Farr completed her Bachelor’s of Education at Concordia University. She has taught both children and adults in Montreal for the past eight years.
Véronique Lachance (SK): Mme. Lachance obtained her Bachelor’s of Education from L’Université du Québec à Montréal. Her experience includes teaching the Cree on James Bay, as well as teaching at several schools in Montreal.
Julie Papa (SK): Mme. Papa received her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Ottawa. She also previously studied in France. Last year, she completed her practicum at TFS teaching a Grade 5 class.
Gérald Pezet (Physical Education): M. Pezet, hailing originally from France, completed his degree in Physical Education at the University of Sherbrooke. For the last nine years, he has taught French immersion students from Kindergarten through Grade 8.
Adding to the already-talented ranks of the Senior School are:
Annick Cardinal (Math): Ms. Cardinal has her Bachelor’s of Education from the University of Toronto. She has been teaching Math for several years for the Toronto District School Board.
Véronique Frenay (French): Mme. Frenay studied at L’Université de Grenoble and at L’Université de Paris 1. She has taught in Belgium, Hong Kong, France and Toronto.
Maret Kapp (Teacher Librarian): Ms. Kapp received both her Bachelor of Education degree and her Master’s of Information Studies from the University of Toronto. In addition to teaching French for several years in Peel and York regions, she was the Manager of Library Services at Nunavut Arctic College.
So whether they come from near or far, we offer each new staff member a hearty TFS welcome!
