Toronto French School Facts

Founded in 1962, Toronto French School is a not-for-profit, independent school offering a bilingual education to students at two campuses.

  • TFS is bilingual, co-educational and non-denominational.
  • TFS is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School
  • The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma is mandatory for students.  TFS also offers a bilingual IB.
  • It offers an academic program for students from age three to university entrance.
  • TFS accepts new students into all grades, with no prior knowledge of French being required up to and including Grade 7.
  • For 2009, 98% of all TFS candidates were successful in obtaining their IB Diploma. This success rate is consistent with the average rate of successful Diploma candidates in the last five years (99%), and compares very favourably to an overall world pass rate that averages 80% for the last five years.
