Endowed Gifts
Building a strong endowment for TFS is key to increasing the School’s long-term financial stability and security. Endowed funds are invested and held in perpetuity by the TFS Foundation, and the annual interest generated from the principal provides revenue that contributes to the School’s ability to do the following:

  • enhance TFS’ high standards of education through curriculum enrichment;
  • attract and retain the best and the brightest students through bursary support;
  • honour the achievements of its students by presenting a variety of prizes, awards and scholarships; and
  • engage in long-range planning by having a predictable stream of revenue available to support the School’s initiatives.

Bursary Funds
Donations in any amount to one of the Foundation’s bursary funds help TFS provide monetary support to deserving students whose parents may be faced with unexpected financial constraints, allowing them to remain at the School and complete their TFS education.

Parents of graduating students are invited to honour their child’s accomplishments at TFS by supporting their child’s Class Fund, while alumni and their parents are encouraged to designate their annual TFS donation to their Class Fund. Current TFS parents may choose to donate to the General Bursary Fund.

Many TFS teaching and administrative staff members care deeply about the School and its students. For that reason, the Foundation has established a Staff Bursary Fund so that staff also have a special way in which to support the School’s bursary program.

Over the long term, it is hoped that these bursary funds will generate sufficient investment income for the School to provide subsidized tuition for those families with deserving students who do not have the financial means to attend TFS.

Named Endowment Funds
Establishing a named endowment fund is a way for you to make a meaningful gift that provides lasting support to the School while offering you permanent recognition that commemorates your family’s name at TFS. As with all endowed funds, named endowment funds are held and invested by the TFS Foundation. All contributions to your family fund are eligible for a receipt for income tax purposes and, once established, any future donations that you or family members or friends contribute can be added to your fund. As your fund grows over the years, so will the income that it generates and the support that it provides the School. For more information on establishing a named endowment fund at TFS please contact the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations at (416) 484-6980 ext. 4250.
