Guidance – Special Events | Print |

The following special events are planned throughout the School year. Attendance at these events is strongly encouraged:

• University Information Presentations
Approximately 40 university liaison and admission officers visit TFS from September to December. All students and parents are welcome to attend and have the opportunity to talk directly to the university admission officers.

• University Evenings at TFS
These presentations, which are held at various times throughout the year, focus on the application process, admissions criteria, and academic programs for Canadian, American and International universities. All parents and students are invited to attend.

• Campus Visits
Each year, Level III, IV and V students spend a day at a university campus for an admissions talk, campus tour and general introduction to university life.

• Career Lunches
All students are invited to attend informative lunch-time talks given by professionals in a variety of careers. Many alumni visit TFS to share their academic and vocational experiences.

• Curriculum Evenings
Presentations are made in February for parents and students from Grade 5 to Level III to outline the TFS curriculum continuum so that appropriate courses can be selected.

• Workshops
Special presentations are planned on subjects as varied as university admissions (e.g. essay writing, applications), health and wellness (e.g., mental health, bullying, eating disorders) and honing your skills (e.g. exam preparations).
