Senior School students journey to Ecuador

3/26/2019

It was a wonderful March Break trip, filled with cultural learning, and mixing work with play. Some of the highlights included meeting a group of female artisans who support their families by selling their work.

Our students also enjoyed working on building the foundation of a classroom, making cement, tying metal and digging holes. They also learned about the region’s agricultural economy, best practices for agriculture, and learned how to plant plantains and yucca. No one could forget the session about growing cocoa beans and, yes, that included chocolate-tasting and making opportunities.

The students also took in a performance by a local Indigenous dance group, as they celebrated their trip and time in the Amazon.
