Campus Master Plan

Last fall, current and former TFS parents and alumni were invited to participate in an online survey to help us prepare for future fundraising campaigns.
Thank you to everyone who responded and shared their initial thoughts on the unique, purpose-built spaces and new programming being considered. Some of the main themes that emerged from the survey results include:
  • 887 members of the broad TFS community completed the survey, resulting in a response rate of 20.8% - a strong rate for an independent school; over 30% of current parents responded.
  • 86% said they have a positive or very positive attitude towards TFS.
  • 85% consider TFS’ reputation as positive or very positive compared to its peer schools.
  • 83% considered the fundraising priorities somewhat or very compelling.

Overall, there is a consensus that investment in new spaces and programs is important for the future of TFS and there was an indication that more information was desired around the priorities being considered. While our focus has shifted for the current year, as we address the immediate needs arising as a result of the pandemic, the campus master plan will continue to be a priority and an important part of the long-term vision for TFS. During this time, school leadership will continue to review and adjust plans, and we look forward to coming back to the community with further details around the priority projects and the important role philanthropy will play in building a school that provides TFS students with a rigorous learning program that gives them not only the knowledge and skills of contemporary subject matter, but also the context of how areas of study came into being. Combined with our citizenship education, this comprehensive base of accumulated learning will prepare them to confidently take on the opportunities and challenges that our future will bring.
