Celebrating la francophonie at TFS

Recently, TFS celebrated “La Semaine de la francophonie.” This specially designated week acknowledges and honours the French language and many diverse cultures that make up the Francosphere, and takes place in countries around the world and across a number of Canadian provinces.
French is a language that both enriches and is enriched by the different countries and speakers for whom it is the common tongue. It is also the fifth most widely spoken language on the planet and, together with English, represents the one of the only two languages that are officially spoken on five continents. Not to mention that it is also the third most-used global language of business, after English and Mandarin.

At TFS, the French language and culture have been integral to the school’s identity since its establishment in 1962. Moreover, this euphonic language provides us with a sense of belonging as we see ourselves as part of a worldwide community of French speakers. The TFS motto, vision, mission and values align well with the humanistic values championed by and through the French language and its heritage, such as respect for diversity of cultures and perspectives.
Vive la francophonie !
