How the World Works: PYP Exhibition at the Junior School and West Campus

This year’s PYP exhibition theme was ‘How the World Works.’ The theme represented an inquiry into the natural world and its laws; the interaction between the natural world (physical and biological) and human societies; how humans use their understanding of scientific principles; and the impact of scientific and technological advances on society and on the environment.
Under the guidance of their teacher-mentors, the Grade 5 student groups crafted their own unit of inquiry, including coming up with a central idea and lines of inquiry. The projects covered a wide range of topics, including medicine, natural disasters, space, pesticides, deforestation, transportation, global warming and technology, among others.
