Celebrating Black History Month at TFS

As in previous years, TFS students participated in several events to acknowledge and celebrate Black History Month in February.  Our students were encouraged to reflect upon the crucial importance of inclusion and diversity, and to celebrate the Black Canadian community.
TFS’ mission is to develop students who celebrate difference, transcend borders and strive for the betterment of humankind. Through assemblies and mentorship sessions at each branch, our students gained a better understanding and appreciation of Black history through the lens of the arts, media,  pop culture and philosophy, to name a few.

At the end of the month, the members of the Black Excellence Club, led by Ms. Kenga, created an exhibition highlighting key Black figures throughout history. The expo, on display in the Senior School, pays tribute to their perspectives, journeys, and impact on yesterday’s and today’s world.

Black History Month highlights our focus on inclusion and diversity, which is of utmost importance throughout the entire year.
