Lawrence Investments team heads to the semi-finals of the Wharton Global High School Competition
Our Senior School Lawrence Investments team has earned its way to the semi-finals in this year’s Wharton Global High School Competition.
In this competition, which began on September 26, 2022, the team was given a brief case study of a potential client, and a portfolio of $100,000 in virtual cash. With an approved stock list (a selection of domestic and international equities) and the Wharton Investment Simulator (WInS), their objective was to work collaboratively over the course of ten weeks to develop an investment strategy plan in order to meet the client’s long-term investment goals. Results were analyzed by internal reviewers and a group of professional asset managers from Abrdn.
Their report was ranked in the top 55 out of nearly 1,400 teams from 53 competing countries, and they are one of only four Canadian groups to advance through to the next round.
The team consists of the following students: Level IV: Anne Y., Crystal Z. and Celia S. Level III: Xudong G. and Junle H. Level II: Jack Y. and William Z.
Join us in cheering on the team as they work through the next round, whereby a panel of experts will judge them based on how well the team is able to articulate their strategy. Only 10 teams will make it to the finals.
