TFS Walks for Water

Co-sponsored by TFS' Outreach and Eco Councils, on April 18, students, staff and invited guests learned about water  a basic human right – that is lacking for millions of people around the world due to unsafe conditions and/or distance from communities, and took action by simulating the walk for water in our own community.
Taking part in the walk was Mama Pasiyio, a Masai artist and mother from Ntulele, Kenya. Mama Pasiyio works with women from across Narok County helping them turn their traditional beading skills into thriving businesses.

Later, the audience enjoyed a reading from Kaya Girl by Ghanaian author, Mamle Wolo, who won the 2011 Burt Award for children’s writing and is a freelance consultant in social development issues.
