Level II Students Visit Chinatown

Our Level II students set off to explore Toronto’s Chinatown to practise their Mandarin. Since the beginning of this school year, they have learned new vocabulary words which they can use in everyday life within the Chinese community.
To best prepare for their trip, they imagined in their class together with their Mandarin teacher what a Chinese community could look like.

During their excursion, they were able to practise their Mandarin through various activities, including a scavenger hunt to discover the Chinese community as a whole.

Upon their return, they were able to share their feelings with the rest of their class and come up with new ideas to improve Chinatown.

This day trip thus enabled our students to discover a new community while practising a new language.
