A graduating class like no other, from a year like no other

2020 has been an extraordinary year in many respects. For our Level V students, this singular situation has meant the postponement of a series of beloved, traditional graduation events, including the Grad Walk, the Red Tie Luncheon, the Head’s Dinner, and their graduation ceremony and prom.
Most of these events will be held in the fall - subject to the evolution of local health recommendations. Regardless, the end of a student’s secondary studies is a milestone that should be recognized, and TFS has strived to make this spring one of celebration for the Class of 2020.

For starters, on May 27, each graduate was surprised by their mentors delivering a “grad package” to their home. It included a card signed by the Head of School and the Senior School Principal, an engraved key, a framed class picture, a Grad sweatshirt, as well as a lawn sign reading “A TFS 2020 grad lives here.”

On May 29, the day the official graduation ceremony should have taken place, the Level Vs attended their final assembly. This assembly gave an opportunity to our Head of School, Dr. González, Senior School Principal, M. Gaudet, and many teachers and staff members to warmly congratulate the students they have come to know so well, and to wish them good luck as they prepare for university life. Congratulatory videos such as this one were shared, and the graduates recognized their teachers with personalized awards, in keeping with TFS tradition.

Congratulations again to this amazing class of graduates, who faced the exceptional circumstances of 2020 with the resilience and fortitude commonly exemplified by the TFS community!
