Grade 4 student, Claire Z., wins first place in an international math competition

January 18 was a blue ribbon day for TFS Grade 4 Junior School student Claire Z.
That’s when she came in 1st place in the Caribou Mathematics Competition, out of 9,400 other students in her grade level taking part worldwide!

The Caribou Mathematics Competition is an international online contest that allows students to put their math skills to the test.  Held six times throughout the year, each contest is offered respectively to grade levels 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, 9/10 and 11/12.

Claire, a self-confessed lover of math, used this competition to practice and improve her skills. After placing in the top 4% in the first contest and the top 2% in the second, her determination only grew stronger. Finally after completing the third contest,  she earned 1st place! “I was so surprised and stunned,” said Claire. This is sure to be a special moment that will be remembered throughout her TFS journey. Congratulations Claire!
