Kaneff family champions game-changing new Athletic Wing at West Campus
Thanks to the generous support of families like the Kaneffs, whose support now totals over $1 million for our Can’t Wait! campaign, TFS is on track to open our new Athletic Wing on our West Campus at the start of the 2026-2027 school year. At the heart of the facility will be the Gymnase Kaneff, brand new regulation-size gym that promises to transform athletics and give our community in Mississauga true homecourt advantage.
“The first house that our father built was 250 metres from here,” says Anna-Maria Kaneff, a current parent and Class of 1997 graduate. “We thought it was so fitting that we would take that which represented our father’s life’s work and tie that in with the opportunity to give.”
“Giving back was probably the most important lesson my father instilled in us growing up,” adds Kristina Kaneff, a Class of 1999 graduate and current parent. “And what better place than somewhere we can see the fruits of that gift come to life?”
Inside the new building will also be a new design studio where students can bring STEAM-related ideas to life and let their imaginations and creativity soar.
“The Kaneff family are part of a very close knit community here at the West Campus. Anna-Maria and Kristina have led the way as alumni, as parents and as active board members,” says Norman Gaudet, Head of School at TFS. “Their commitment and dedication to TFS is a testament to their values which were passed down by their parents, Didi and Ignat. Their impact has been nothing but extraordinary.”
“The school is part of our life,” says Didi Kaneff. “We are trying to ensure that the legacy lives on of what my late husband started and believed in.”
