$1 million from the Chandaria Family champions the future at TFS

The Chandarias and their extended family have been a part of the fabric of TFS for over four decades, more than two-thirds of the school’s entire history. Beyond their connection as parents, students and alumni, the Chandarias have been dedicated volunteers and made generous philanthropic contributions to our school. Now, led by the siblings and alumni, Shernee Chandaria ’95, Sheena Chandaria '01 and their brother Sunir Chandaria, who attended TFS from 1983 to 1991, the family has further cemented their legacy at the school, becoming Catalyst Donors and inaugural members of Le Cercle Giles with a $1 million gift to the Can’t Wait! Campaign.
“TFS is truly a school that thrives because of the community that we build around it,” said Sheena. “Being a donor to the school will allow TFS to invest in our children, and we will see the results firsthand.”
“This school has great ambition, great plans, and wishes to invest in order to stay at the forefront of education,” Sunir added. “We wanted to participate, to contribute. And we believe in the ability of this school to create, support, and unlock phenomenal talent.”
The Chandaria family’s support helped TFS raise a record $8 million in 2025 and today we have reached over $32 million of our $40 million campaign goal. Thanks to their commitment and the generous contribution of other families in our community, the largest expansion of our campus in over 20 years is well underway. These new spaces, designed to promote wellness, empower creativity and interdisciplinary learning opportunities, promise to prepare our students to thrive today and tomorrow.
“It’s giving to the school, to the environment, that the current children and the future children are going to grow up in,” said Shernee. “And then the impact that they will then have on both their local communities and the global communities that they live in.”
Shernee, as a member of the TFS Board of Directors, and Sheena, as a member of the TFS Foundation Board, have each provided guidance and expertise in support of the school’s strategic priorities and realization of our Master Campus Plan. Together with TFS parents Priya Malde and Rajay Shah, the family was also a generous sponsor of TFS' 60th Anniversary Gala, the Diamond Soirée. The three siblings established The Chandaria Family TFS Entrance Scholarship as well, opening the door for promising students who would otherwise not have access to the life changing education offered by the school.
“It’s so fitting that a family that has been such an integral part of our history is now helping to shape our future,” said Norman Gaudet, Head of School.
